What will you do?

We are expanding and looking for an experienced developer to join our team.

 

Resonsibilities:

  • Working within a cross-discipline Scrum team to achieve sprint goals and longer-term department and company goals
  • Working closely with Support and Product teams to deliver high quality software that supports the achievement of Company goals, and increases customer satisfaction and retention
  • Pair and individual programming to implement features/solve bugs
  • Helping colleagues to deliver the highest levels of internal & external customer satisfaction
  • Contributing code that only mostly does not require material feedback or implementation changes
  • Following existing patterns and approaches in the codebases
  • Improving product security, quality, maintainability, and performance
  • Implementing features, bugfixes, enhancements, and system designs
  • Conducting peer code reviews, providing meaningful feedback for other engineers
  • Contributing to Scrum events
  • As a team, delivering on what was committed to at the beginning of each Sprint

  • Ruby on Rails (> 6.1)

  • VueJS 3

  • Modern Javascript (> ES6) & Typescript

  • MariaDB or MySQL

What do you need to succeed?

You should have several years of experience working in a product-driven, agile environment. A proven track record of delivering quality products is essential, and you should be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of Ruby, and Ruby on Rails, and not be afraid to get your hands dirty in the frontend.

Your professionalism and drive should be second to none, and your communication skills are top drawer. A real collaborator, you can integrate seamlessly into a tight team and support and encourage your colleagues.

 

Essentials

  • At least three years working with Ruby and/or Ruby on Rails

  • Strong knowledge of HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven experience working in an Agile team

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A willingness to travel to Leeds for occasional meetups

Desirables

  • Experience working with JavaScript frameworks, such as VueJS

  • Knowledge and experience of TDD
